Assessment Only
If you are an experienced unqualified teacher with a degree, you can achieve Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) without having to do any further training.
Assessment only (AO) allows you to demonstrate that you already meet all of the standards for QTS by presenting a detailed portfolio of evidence. The course lasts 3 months, and your teaching will be assessed in a school by us, as an accredited and approved AO provider.
To undertake this route, you must have the support of your employing school.

Who is it relevant for?
- Graduates who have already taught as an unqualified teacher in at least two different consecutive key stages.
- Graduates who have taught typically for a minimum of 2 years. Your second school placement must be for a minimum of 6 weeks.
Entry requirements
- A UK Bachelors Honours Degree or equivalent qualification
- GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 4 (previously grade C) or above in English and Maths, plus a Science for primary teachers
- A minimum of 2 years teaching experience employed as an unqualified teacher in at least two mainstream settings
- Evidence of teaching across the whole age range of the key stages in which you are being assessed
- If you are an international applicant, your prior experience must have been obtained within British Curriculum Schools
- Applicants must prove, through the interview process, both their suitability to teach and their ability to meet the standards for QTS without the need for any further training

Costs
The cost for this course is £2,500, plus travel and accommodation costs for 2 assessors, if needed.
Please note, all applicants must pay a non-refundable deposit of £500.
