I graduated from CTG back in 1997. My mentor and professional tutor were excellent. I was able to be immersed in the classroom from the start and get immediate feedback to try out. The Friday study day enabled me to stay on top of planning and assignments and therefore do a better job in the classroom.
I have worked across a range of schools from Special Measures to Outstanding across Luton, Stevenage & Letchworth. I am now back in Luton working for the Chiltern Learning Trust. I rapidly progressed to a leadership position in my late 20s. When applying to work for the CLT it was important to be contributing to a town where I grew up and in schools where I was trained - CTG was part of the magnetism I suppose!
A sense of community amongst the many CTG trainees in the town, old and new, is important as you do feel part of something great and have a professional community to continue to develop with.
